Training week has started…
So it’s now Tuesday morning, and I have already had 2 (small) workouts this week!WOO-HOO!!
Monday morning I got up and did a loop around Clarendon that was about a 3 mile loop (I walked the last mile). Now while that’s not a big workout, it was still a workout! I felt GREAT getting some movement in my legs, and I even tried a new energy gel in my run.
We got new BANANA FLAVORED hammer gel at work, and since I LOVE my banana nuun, I figured I would try banana hammer. While I normally use GU energy gel, I figured it still wouldn’t hurt to try Hammer.
It def helped in my run, I didn’t feel as bad during my run, and I plan on using some sort of gel in each of my runs. I ordered a big pack of GU Energy (I still like that better than Hammer) so I can have plenty of GU for my runs.
Oh, in case you don’t know what Hammer and GU are, it’s a gel you eat before and during your long runs (yes, I know 3 miles isn’t long!) and it gives your body nutrients and energy to finish your run.
This morning I went on a small bike ride (with cupcake, since the new bike hasn’t come in yet). My ride consists of my biking to Clarendon to pick up my car and then driving home J I leave my car at the bike shop, so the next morning I bike to get it and I feel like I’ve gotten SOME sort of exercise before the day starts (again, very short ride – like 2 miles).
